Swiss-Tech-Camping-Tool-Set

I was hunting for an alternate door opener EDC tool when I came across this Swiss+Tech outdoor and camping tool kit and it really is... something?

This is one of those brands that has always produced goofy but handy small multi-tools, and Swiss+Tech is no exception. These include things like small keychain tools with pliers and the like.

Swiss+Tech's low-contact door opener EDC tool wasn't a surprise, but a camping tool set? Because of this, I decided to take a deeper look, and I'm glad I did.

Swiss-Tech-Camping-Tool-Set-Assortment

At first glance, this appears to be a collection of cool-looking outdoor knives and tools that have been tossed together.

Swiss-Tech Camping Tool Set Hatchet Wrench

However, upon closer inspection, things seem ludicrous.

The hatchet-like weapon, described by Swiss+Tech as a "camping axe," is one-piece with a "rope grip." It has a traditional tactical design, but the hex wrench cut-outs piqued my interest.

What are the dimensions of a 2/5′′, 1/2′′, and 3/5′′ wrench? For what purpose?

What's going on in the background? A guy in a hoodie sweatshirt working out with weighted ropes? Is that what people do nowadays when they go camping?

I was about to give up and dismiss the browser window when I spotted this image. Hex wrench sizes include 2/5′′, 1/2′′, and 3/5′′. With an "axe."

Swiss-Tech-Camping-Tool-Set-Camping-Knife

"One-piece camping knife with rope handle" is the item after that. This is also referred to as a "hunting knife" by Swiss+Tech.

It's an excellent alternative for camping, trekking, hunting and other outdoor pursuits," claims SwissTech. Sure.

What appears to be an out-of-control fire serves as the backdrop for this product illustration.

According to Swiss+Tech,‘’With its serrated bottom, the blade can be used to quickly cut through rope.’’

Where is this serrated edge? Is it the jumping on the spine, which is clearly not sharp enough to cut anything?

Swiss-Tech-Camping-Tool-Set-Machete-Knife

Naturally, what outdoor and camping tool package would be complete without a machete?

Swiss-Tech-Camping-Tool-Set-Headlamp

The kit also includes a headlamp that appears cheap but is otherwise unremarkable.

Swiss-Tech-Camping-Tool-Set-Paracord

Additionally, you'll receive a fire starter, two carabiner clips, and 50 feet of paracord or rope.

Swiss-Tech-Camping-Tool-Set-Functions

The "multi-tool striker" that is supposed to be used with the fire-starting flint is depicted as functioning as a bottle opener, but I cannot imagine how this would work.

I quickly determined that this is not a one-of-a-kind product for SwissTech.

Swiss-Tech-Camping-Knife-Workmanship

Don't worry, the "exquisite workmanship" of the three-for-$20 knife assures you.

Swiss-Tech-Camping-Tool-Knife-Set-Egonomics

There is only one knife included in the camping tool kit, but you may purchase a 3-pack to alternate between grips and fingerless gloves while staring at wildlife in the wilderness.

Mossy Oak Camping Tool Set

If all of that isn't fantastic enough for you, the same manufacturer also produces a Mossy Oak camping tool set. The top Amazon review begins, "excellent for camping and zombie protection."

I understand that not everyone can afford high-quality camping equipment, knives, or torches, but is there any utility in a set like this? Is this the type of outdoor tool set that novices purchase because they believe they need it?
